The association will hold events throughout the year and all members are invited. The Letterwinners Association calendar includes:
The next Mean Green reunion will take place during homecoming weekend, Nov. 10-11, when North Texas welcomes back coach Darrell Dickey and his alums from 1998-2006.
The weekend begins with a reunion mixer on Friday, Nov. 10, in the HUB Club. Here are the details:
Coach Dickey is now the offensive coordinator for the red-hot Memphis Tigers, but Nov. 10-11 coincides with Memphis’ open weekend. This allows coach Dickey to return to campus for the first time since he was inducted in the North Texas Athletic Hall of Fame. It should be a tremendous weekend for celebrating an age of Mean Green football that produced a 25-game conference win streak, four straight conference championships, four consecutive bowl games and a back-to-back national rushing champions. We hope to see many former players from this time back on campus all weekend.
On Saturday, Nov. 11, coach Dickey's former North Texas players are invited to attend the Letterwinners' Tailgate prior to the Mean Green's game against UTEP (click here for a map of the tailgate location).
Coach Dickey, who was unable to attend the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in September, and his former players will be honored on the field during the North Texas-UTEP game.
